A Virginia Beach man was killed Monday night in a two-car crash on I-64, police said.

James C. Pavlikowski, 25, the only occupant of a 2002 Chrysler Sebring, was traveling east in the westbound lanes when his car hit a 2003 Ford Windstar van head-on about 11:45 p.m. at the 218.5 mile marker in New Kent County.

Pavlikowski was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.

The female driver of the Ford was wearing a seatbelt and transported to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
