Dorothy Marshall Kennedy died peacefully on Nov. 5, 2016 after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 2, 1929 in Blunt, S.D.
Her parents, Margaret and Joseph Marshall; brothers, Francis, Bernie, Ray, and Ken; and sister, Alice predeceased Dorothy. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Eugene M. Kennedy; her sister, Helen Roddewig; brother, Joe Marshall; children, Nadene, Michele (Fred Hauck), Mark and Barbara Kennedy; and grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew (Colleen Sinnott) Kennedy.
She attended Black Hills Teacher’s College and returned to teach in the one room schoolhouse she attended as a child. Dot was a devoted Navy wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She worked for Camellia Foods before her retirement. She and her husband were active members of Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church and delivered Meals on Wheels for nearly twenty years.
