Louis proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and retired in 1997. After his retirement, he started his own janitorial service. Louis enjoyed many things. He was a musician and led the reggae band Zion Wave, which was very popular in the 80’s and 90’s. His band paved the way for the roots rock-reggae scene in Virginia, where he left a remarkable impact on those who were able to perform and even follow the band through its many years.
Louis enjoyed outdoor activities like planting vegetables, fishing and, when he could, he loved to bake homemade bread and pastries. There was nothing that could keep him from enjoying those things he loved to do. He was truly a jack of all trades. He had a giving heart and he will be missed by many.
